Punjab PCS 2020 Notification

Punjab PCS 2020 Notification has been released now. Punjab Public Service Commission has released the appliance  form for 77 vacancies of several posts. The last date to submit the PPSC Exam application is 30 June 2020.

PPSC Recruitment 2020 notification includes information about the exam dates, syllabus and eligibility. PPSC Exam date as notified are going to be conducted in September 2020.

Punjab State Civil Services Examination 2020 are going to be administered by Punjab Public Service Commission. The PPSC Recruitment 2020 will hold 9 posts containing 77 vacancies. The PPSC examination may be a recruitment exam to pick officers and administrators for the govt of Punjab.

Punjab PCS 2020 Educational Criteria

1. The candidate should possess a bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institution; as long as the candidate could also be permitted to require preliminary examination while studying for the qualifying degree. However, the candidate shall be required to supply proof of qualifying the degree course for being eligible to require the most Competitive Examination (As per Punjab State Civil Services (Appointment by Combined Competitive Examination) Rules, 2009) during that year.
2. No candidate shall be eligible for appearing within the Preliminary Competitive Examination, unless he/she has passed the Matriculation Examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or the other equivalent examination in Punjabi language, which can be specified by the govt from time to time.
3. For the aim of eligibility for PSCSCCE-2020 , the expression “recognised university” or “institution” shall have an equivalent meaning, as assigned thereto within the Punjab Civil Services (General and customary Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994.

Punjab PCS 2020 Age Limit Criteria

1. As mandated by Punjab State Civil Services (Appointment by Combined Competitive Examination) Rules, 2009 read with Punjab Civil Services (Executive Branch) Rules 1976, and Govt. instructions issued from time to time, the candidate should have attained the minimum age of 21 years and will not have attained the age of 37 years on the primary day of January of the year during which the Judgment Day falls for submission of application to the Commission. In other words, the candidate should have attained the age of 21 years but shouldn’t be older than 37 years on 1st January 2020.

as long as within the case of the post of Deputy Superintendent Police andDeputy Superintendent Jail)/ District  officeholder (Grade-II) in PunjabPrisons State Service, a candidate should have attained the minimum age of 21 years and should not have attained the age of 28 years on the primary day of the year, as referred to above.

2. The upper regulation for a Punjab Government, Other government or the Government of India, including Board/Corporations/Public Sector Undertaking employees could also be relaxed up to 45 years. However no age relaxation is permissible for Punjab Police Service.

3. The Upper regulation could also be relaxed up to 33 years for Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab only just in case of Punjab Police Service and Punjab Prisons Service.

4. The Upper regulation could also be relaxed up to 42 years for Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab only just in case of other services except Punjab Police Service and Punjab Prisons Service.

5. Ex-servicemen of Punjab Domicile shall be allowed to deduct the amount of his service within the soldiers of Union from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the utmost regulation prescribed for direct appointment to such a vacancy within the Service Rules concerned by quite three years, he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding regulation .

6. Upper regulation could also be relaxed up to 42 years for Widows, Divorced women and certain other Categories of girls . However no age relaxation is permissible for women just in case of Punjab Police Services and Punjab Prisons Service.

7. Upper regulation could also be relaxed up to 47 years for Physically Handicapped of Punjab only. However no age relaxation is permissible just in case of Punjab Police Service and Punjab Prisons Service.

Note: Regarding drawing the pay of the appointed candidate, as per Notification No. 7/204/2012-4FP1/66, Dated 15/01/2015 Govt. of Punjab, Department of Finance (Finance Personnel-I Branch) Chandigarh, and Notification No. 1/62016-4P.P.1/834680/1 dated 07/09/2016 Govt. of Punjab,Department of Personnel PP-I Branch Chandigarh, fixed emolument adequate to Minimum of the Pay Band with none Grade Pay or any allowance are going to be paid during the probation period of three years. it’s also clear that Annual increment or the other allowance except travelling allowance will not be paid during the probation period of three years. However, this issue is under litigation. So, there could also be some change in rules in due course, but thus far the Rules stands.

Punjab PCS Exam Pattern 2020

The PPSC CCE 2020 preliminary examination involves two stages. the primary stage of examination includes an examination with multiple choice questions within the question papers, and within the second stage involves subjective questions and a written reply to those questions. Subsequently, on qualifying both the stages, the candidates are going to be involved interview.

Therefore, the important stages of the choice process are as follows:

  • Preliminary Competitive Examination
  • Main Competitive Examination (written and viva-voce/Interview)

PPSC Prelims Exam Pattern 2020

The PCE will consist of two papers of 200 marks each. The question paper shall comprise of objective type (multiple choice) questions. The scheme details are as follows:

Important Highlights:

1) Both the papers are going to be of objective type multiple choice questions.

2) Duration of every paper for preliminary exam are going to be two hours. However, Persons with disability candidates are going to be given additional 40 minutes.

3) There’ll be no negative marking within the written preliminary exam test, however there could also be negative marking for any objections to the solution Key found false/frivolous/not supported by authentic evidence.

4) The question paper shall be bilingual and shall be printed in English (Roman script) and Punjabi (Gurumukhi script)  apart from questions where candidates’ proficiency in language is to be tested.

5) The quality of questions would be to check the knowledge as is predicted of a person who has attained education a minimum of up to graduation level.

6) Preliminary exam is merely a screening test for choosing candidates who would be eligible to require the most  Examination and therefore the marks obtained during this Examination shall not be counted towards the merit of the
candidates received after the most Examination.

7) Candidates adequate to 13 times of the vacancies advertised in each category would qualify from amongst those appearing within the preliminary exam for the most Examination, as long as , such number of candidates are available and, are otherwise eligible for admission to the most Examination.

Important Highlights:

• Each paper duration are going to be of three hours and visually impaired candidates would tend an additional  hour in each paper.

• All the question papers are going to be set in English, except the language papers. except for the candidates opted for Punjabi medium are going to be given the questions set accordingly.

• The candidates will have an choice to attempt all the papers, the exception is granted to the language papers- English and Punjabi.

• The candidates who are willing to seem all the papers within the Punjabi language may give an English version within the brackets (only the outline of the technical terms), additionally to the version within the Punjabi language.

Interview stage:

• The candidates less than 3 times the amount of vacancies advertised in each category shall be involved the interview, provided they need appeared and qualified for the most Written Examination.

• The candidates who qualify the most Competitive Examination and meet all the ‘Eligibility Criteria’ as cited within the Notification shall be involved the interview.
1. If a candidate obtains 45% marks within the aggregate of all the papers (40% belonging to SC and STs) including a minimum of 25% marks in each paper. Here aggregate of all papers includes an aggregate of General Studies Paper means ‘Aggregate of Paper-I, Paper-II, Paper-III and Paper-IV.
2. If enough candidates don’t obtain 45% marks within the aggregate, the Commission may at their discretion lower the share i.e. up to 40% generally and 35% for the candidates belonging to the SC and STs. However, the minimum percentage for every paper shall remain unchanged.

• The names of the qualified candidates shall be arranged so as of merit. These arrangements are going to be  made  consistent with the mixture marks obtained from the most Examination and Interview.

Note: just in case , two or more candidates score equal aggregate marks in Main and Interview, the candidate having higher marks within the written a part of the most examination shall be ranked higher. and therefore the  candidates securing same marks within the Main exam, the one having scored higher generally studies are going to be given preference. And if that’s also found an equivalent , then in such cases, the candidates with older age are going to be given the preference.

Candidates will be required to write three short essays in English or Punjabi on specified topics. The choice of subjects will be given. They will be expected to keep closely to the subject of the essay to arrange their ideas in an orderly fashion, and to write concisely.
